Why is Good Posture So Important?

Good posture means good health. Are you surprised? Remember that our spines are central to our structure. The spine is the "relay station" of our central and peripheral nervous systems.

Good posture distributes the force of gravity through our body, ensuring that no structure is overstressed. Good posture helps our bodies be more resistant to the day-to-day stressors we experience in life.

Ideal postural alignment balances the distribution of body weight, which enables our muscles and ligaments to perform as designed. Proper posture also allows for improved circulation, digestion, nervous system and organ functioning.

Many conditions occur as a result of our bodies being held in an unnatural position. Problems with back pain, neck and chronic muscle strain can all be reduced by proper posture.

Good posture is essential to good health. When the spine is properly aligned our bodies function as it is meant to.
