A lot of people ask me if kids can benefit from seeing chiropractors, and the answer is a resounding YES. Perhaps there is a misconception out there that only adults see chiropractors or that kids are too ‘young’ to see chiropractors. Perhaps even their medical doctors may have discouraged parents from taking their children to chiropractors, (again, usually due to misconceptions).
Children are subjected to same physical, chemical, and emotional stresses as adults are. In fact right from birth trauma to learning to hold their heads up, crawl, walk, ride bikes, skate etc., us humans sustain a lot of ‘bumps and bruises’ along the way. Add to that a more prevalent problem that I like to call ‘technology strain’. It seems that most children nowadays have laptops or portable devices, which are not conducive to good posture, not to mention that it promotes a more sedentary lifestyle. Also consider the problem of heavy backpacks and book bags, which can put a lot of stress on the body, and spine in particular, (something I like to call ‘student syndrome’).
